Under the patronage of H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), and Chairwoman of the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Ladies Clubs, the 2nd edition of the shooting championship for ladies launched on Monday March 1, 2021, organized by Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in cooperation with Caracal Shooting Club and Al Forsan International Sports Resort. More than 44 Emirati participants were part of the qualifying stage that ended in March 17, amid a large competition from the ladies who came to participate for the first time, 30 of them qualified for the semi-finals in this championship.

Following all precautionary and preventive measures and this prompted the organizing committee to extend the championship period to a full month, so the runs can be divided into separate groups to reduce gathering at the shooting range. The competition witnessed a strong presence of shooters, including women in advanced positions in the qualifying stage: Mouza Awad Al Nuaimi with 97 points, Salwa Salem Al Hadhrami with 96 points and Shaima Mohammed Al Kaabi with 96 points.

The semi-finals have concluded on Wednesday, March 24 with 20 participants qualifying for the final round. The final round will be held on March 31st, were participants will shoot over a distance of 20 meters. the organizing committee will provide the equipment, ammunition, and all neccesary tools needed for the participants.

The championship was held to encourage the practice of shooting in Abu Dhabi, especially among Emirati citizens, reflecting the capabilities and potential of a large number of participants in the championship, and emphasizing the prominent role played by UAE shooting in achieving titles and accomplishments at the national and international level. This is due to the high potential of women in the UAE society and the steps taken by the sports organizations, which has made them unique on the map of achievements.

The expected gains from the championship during the qualifying phase is to develop talents and unleashing their capabilities in the shooting sport, and this enhances the aspirations and ambitions of Emirati women, to be present in such events and sports activities that contribute to achieving an exceptional experience within a safe environment that guarantees privacy for the participants and that’s what makes the sport of shooting with the “Caracal”  weapon a distinctive model among other sports and a window for further achievements.

FBMA representative “Fatima Al Ali explained that: the Academy has always been keen to support and hold women's championships, so the ladies Shooting Championship is part of its targeted sports programs throughout the seasons. She praises the great role of Caracal Shooting Club and Al Forsan International Sports Resort and in organizing and hosting the championship and their great cooperation to successfully establish it in accordance with all safety standards.
