Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy Launches Summer Camps and Cultural Programmes to Discover and Empower Emerging Talent
Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and ‘Mother of the Nation’, and under the guidance of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and Chairwoman of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy has announced the launch of a series of sports, cultural and community programmes and initiatives at the Academy. The initiatives aim to enhance quality of life, encourage community members to adopt healthy and active lifestyles, and discover and empower emerging talent across a range of sporting and cultural fields.
The programmes coincide with the ‘Year of the Family’ and form part of the Academy’s ongoing efforts to establish sport as a way of life and provide a safe, motivating environment that supports the participation of children and women in sports, cultural and community activities. These efforts align with the Academy’s vision to empower women, nurture younger generations and strengthen the presence of women’s sport in the UAE.
As part of its 2026 events calendar, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy is organising its summer camp under the slogan ‘Discovering Talent. The camp will run from 13 July to 6 August 2026 at the Academy’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi and is open to girls aged four to ten and boys aged four to eight.
The summer camp features a diverse range of sporting, recreational and educational activities, including basketball, volleyball, football and martial arts, as well as entertainment sessions, educational and awareness workshops, and other activities designed to keep children active during the summer, develop their skills and discover their talents in a safe and encouraging environment.
The Academy is also continuing its support for cultural and knowledge-based initiatives through the opening of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Sports Academy Library. The library includes publications from the Fatima Bint Hazza Cultural Foundation, alongside a variety of dedicated knowledge hubs.
The library will help promote a culture of reading and lifelong learning and enhance cultural awareness and knowledge among community members of all ages. It will also serve as a platform for building a more knowledgeable society, strengthening the values of national identity, and encouraging research, exploration and creativity.
In conjunction with the ‘Year of the Family’, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy is offering women the opportunity to use its sports facilities in Abu Dhabi as part of its efforts to support and enhance quality of life and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle. Women can access the Academy’s running track, football pitch and padel court within a fully integrated sporting environment that supports their continued participation in physical activity.
Ms. Shamsa Saif Al Hanaee, Board Member of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, said: ‘The launch of this series of initiatives and events extends the Academy’s mission to empower women and increase community participation in sporting and cultural activities. She noted that the summer camp and its accompanying community initiatives provide an important platform for discovering emerging talent, fostering teamwork, and instilling the values of self-confidence, discipline and commitment. She affirmed that the Academy will continue to develop its programmes and events in line with its strategic objectives of supporting women’s sport and enhancing quality of life across the community.
The launch of these activities reflects the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy’s commitment to continuing its pioneering role in empowering women, nurturing young people, and strengthening sporting and community culture through high-quality initiatives that help build a generation that is more aware, healthier and better equipped for the future.
