Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy International Bowling Tournament for Ladies Concludes Its First Edition with Remarkable Success
Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy concluded the first edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy International Bowling Tournament for Ladies, held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, “Mother of the Nation,” and under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club.
The tournament marked a new step that reflects the Academy’s commitment to expanding the horizons of women’s sports, strengthening women’s presence across various sporting disciplines, and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for hosting distinguished local and international sporting events.
The tournament was held over four days at the Academy’s newly inaugurated bowling hall, in cooperation with the Emirates Bowling Federation and Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with the participation of more than 50 players from the UAE and abroad, including UAE national team players and People of Determination.
The internationally classified tournament brought together players of different technical levels in competitions marked by enthusiasm and strong rivalry, with participants delivering outstanding performances that reflected their high skill levels and promising competitive abilities.
The first edition witnessed strong attendance and wide engagement, reflecting the growing status of women’s bowling and the vital role played by the Academy in providing integrated sporting platforms that contribute to discovering talents, refining abilities, and opening new opportunities for players to participate in competitive and international tournaments. This supports the journey of empowering women in the sports sector and enhances their presence across various sporting platforms.
The tournament featured several competitions, including a distinctive participation by People of Determination, as well as players from the UAE national bowling team and participants from different countries around the world, in a scene that reflects the Academy’s keenness to expand the base of participation and provide opportunities for different categories to take part in meaningful sporting experiences.
At the conclusion of the competitions, Rica Aglaua claimed first place, receiving the championship trophy, cash prize, and gold medal. Uella Marcial secured second place, while Joylyn Sta Barbara finished third. The top six winners also included Fatheya Al Mamari, Reem Abdulla, and Myra Aviles, with all winners receiving cash prizes and medals in recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
The tournament also honoured the winners of the special categories, with Zakeya Almamari receiving the “Top Qualifier” award after leading the qualifying stage. She also claimed the “Highest Series” award, with both categories allocated cash prizes and medals, reflecting the tournament’s commitment to encouraging technical excellence and raising the competitive level among participants.
Her Excellency Dr. Omniyat Mohammed Al Hajeri, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, said: “The launch of the first edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy International Bowling Tournament for Ladies represents a valuable addition to the Academy’s sporting agenda and reflects its ongoing vision to support women’s sports and expand their presence across different disciplines. The competitions were managed according to professional organizational and technical standards, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the tournament. The event was also attended by a number of senior figures, representatives of sports entities, and partners, who praised the importance of the tournament and its role in supporting bowling, enhancing women’s participation, and providing players from different categories with the opportunity to gain experience and compete in a distinguished sporting atmosphere.
