AlUla Saudi Team Crowned Champions of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2025
The AlUla Sports Club women’s volleyball team from Saudi Arabia was crowned champion of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2025 after defeating Egypt’s 6th of October team in a thrilling five-set final. The match ended 3–2 in favor of AlUla, with set scores of 15-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, and 15-12, showcasing the high level of competitiveness and determination from both teams.
The tournament was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, known as the "Mother of the Nation." The event was also organized under the guidance of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and Chairwoman of both the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and the Al Ain Ladies Club
The final match and closing ceremony were attended by H.E. Abdullah Juma Al Darmaki, Chairman of the UAE Volleyball Association ; H.E. Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Board Member of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy; and H.E. Osama Abdullah Gargash, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association. The distinguished guests praised the outstanding organization of the tournament and the exceptional level of play displayed by the participating teams, underlining the importance of such events in promoting women’s sports in the UAE and across the region.
In his remarks, H.E. Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Board Member of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy , highlighted the success of the tournament as a leading platform for supporting and empowering women in sports. He said:
“We are very proud of the success of this year’s edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies. All the participating teams demonstrated remarkable performances and commitment, and AlUla Sports Club deservedly claimed the title after a strong and consistent campaign. This success reflects the academy’s dedication to providing opportunities for female athletes to showcase their talents and reach the highest levels.”
He added:
“The large audience turnout and wide media coverage emphasize the growing importance of this tournament, and the participation of Arab teams enriched the competitive spirit and highlighted the unity and friendship shared across the region.”
This year’s edition featured six distinguished Arab teams: the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy team (UAE), Salwa Al-Sabah team (Kuwait), AlUla Sports Club (Saudi Arabia), Akad Ankawa team (Iraq), Wadi Finan team (Jordan), and the 6th of October team (Egypt).
The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies continues to stand as a premier sporting event in the region, reflecting the academy’s vision of empowering women, enhancing their role in sports, and providing them with a competitive platform to develop their skills. The tournament concluded with the awarding of prizes to the champions and the honoring of all participating teams, in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected fair competition, sportsmanship, and friendship among Arab teams.
