 OBJECTIVE:

Coinciding with the beginning of the school year, the PE Teachers Forum aims to bring together PE teachers from mixed and girls-only government and private schools across Abu Dhabi and the Emirates, with a view to facilitate an open discussion and exchange on the PE curriculum in the country. The Forum will take stock of the way and means by which youth is introduced to sports at school and how sport participation can be further encouraged through existing education mechanisms.

 PROGRAMME :

The Forum will evolve around the four following thematic areas 45 min each, guided by presentations of distinguished international professors in the sports field:

  • Pedagogy: what is the best approach to teaching PE and how can we encourage more participation and reward talent?
  • Sociology: why are sports important for a healthy and sustainable society, and how do sports empower girls to become strong women?
  • Psychology: what is the role of the teacher-student relation in defining sport participation for a student, and how does it impact their performance?
  • Sports & Health: what can PE teachers do in order to inspire a healthy and active lifestyle and diet, away from eating disorders and stress?

THE FORUM WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY 15 SEP 2015  AT 08:00 - 14:00 , AT YAS MARINA CIRCUIT.
